Italy - Factors to watch on Sept. 1

The following factors could affect Italian markets on Wednesday.

    GENERAL
    Italy reported 75 coronavirus-related deaths on Tuesday, up
from 53 the previous day, while the daily tally of new
infections rose to 5,498 from 4,257, the health ministry said.

    HIS Markit releases August PMI manufacturing (0745 GMT).

    COMPANIES
    MONTE DEI PASCHI  BMPS.MI 
    Italy's state-owned bad loan manager AMCO has been granted
access to problem loan data of Monte dei Paschi di Siena as the
process to sell the troubled bank moves ahead.  urn:newsml:reuters.com:*:nL8N2Q258X
(*)  UniCredit wants to be shielded by Italy's Treasury against
the risks over Monte dei Paschi di Siena's 15 billion euro 
($17.70 billion) "Stage2" loans, Repubblica reported. According
to the newspaper, these loans could be securitised in order to
reduce the risks on UniCredit in case of a takeover of Monte.
Repubblica added that the exclusive talks on Monte dei Paschi
are likely to be extended for another month beyond Sept. 9
deadline. 
    According to Il Sole 24 Ore, AMCO will likely get up to 8
billion euros of risky loans from Monte dei Paschi di Siena in a
tie-up with UniCredit. The 8 billion euro amount will likely
include only 4 billion euros in "Stage2" loans.

    Two of Abertis's motorway concessions in Spain expire today,
MF reported, adding that the toll-road company and the Spanish
government are divided over the amount of compensation that
would be due to Abertis.

    The utility is ready to launch a 1.2 billion euro renewable
energy investment plan in South America, said MF, adding that
the European Investment Bank (EIB) will finance half of the
project.
    
    STELLANTIS  STLA.MI 
    The world's fourth largest carmaker will extend by one week
to Sept. 13 a planned production stoppage at its Melfi plant in
southern Italy due to a global shortage in microchip offer,

    The group's Ram truck brand for the first time led the
