GENERAL
Italy reported 22,083 COVID-19 related cases on Monday,
against 35,057 the day before, the health ministry said, while

Italian banking and markets regulators told companies to be
on heightened alert against possible hacking attacks, while also
urging them to comply with sanctions imposed against Russia

Italy will replace about half the gas it currently imports
from Russia with other sources, Ecological Transition Minister

Prime Minister Mario Draghi has approved a decree allowing
Italy's state broadcaster RAI to cut its holding in towers unit
Rai Way below 51%, three government officials said, in a move
expected to trigger sector consolidation. The decree could pave
the way for merger talks between Rai Way and EI Towers, the

TIM TLIT.MI
Shares in Telecom Italia (TIM) hit new record lows on Monday
as the head of Italy's biggest phone group met investors to try
to persuade them of the merits of his plans to revive the former
phone monopoly. TIM shares, which lost around 30% of their value
in the last two sessions of last week, ended down 5.45% at 0.236
euros after earlier touching fresh record lows of 0.22 euros.

(*) U.S fund KKR KKR.N could cut the price of its takeover
proposal for TIM to 0.40 euros from 0.505 euros following the
stock's losses in recent days, Il Messaggero reported. The
independent board members from the list put forward by asset
manager Assogestioni, whose funds invest in Telecom Italia,
might be open to engage in talks with KKR, the daily added.
(*) TIM's board meeting to draw up a response to the KKR
proposal is expected to be held on March 13.

Italy's market regulator Consob will examine an issue raised
by Generali shareholder Caltagirone on the legitimacy of
Mediobanca borrowing securities equal to a stake of 4.42% in the
insurer to raise its holding in the insurance group to 17.22%
ahead of Generali's shareholder meeting in April, Il Sole 24 Ore
reported, citing a letter from the body that supervises the
conduct relating to securities lending.
