India's SBI Life quarterly profit rises as tax-cut boosts demand
Jan 28 (Reuters) - India's SBI Life Insurance SBIL.NS reported a near 5% rise in third-quarter profit on Wednesday, aided by higher premium collection on tax cut-spurred retail demand for insurance products. The insurer's net profit rose to 5.77 billion rupees ($62.87 million) for the three months ended December 31, up from 5.51 billion rupees a year earlier.
