U.S. stock indexes edged higher in choppy trading on Monday, with focus shifting
to Tuesday's midterm elections that will determine control of Congress, while
shares of Meta Platforms jumped on a report of job cuts at the Facebook parent.

32,674.56. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.29% at 3,781.42 and the Nasdaq Composite
