* Says it plans to merge with Osaka-based unit Tesac
Wirerope Co., Ltd. on April 1, 2018, and unit will be dissolved
after merger
* Says it will distribute 6.7 million shares (666,710 shares
after co's share consolidation on Oct. 1) of its treasury common
stock and issue 435,180 new shares (43,518 shares after co's
share consolidation on Oct. 1) to unit's another shareholder
Kobe Steel Ltd 5406.T in the merger
* Says Kobe Steel will indirectly and directly hold 43.6
percent stake (25,695 voting power) in the co, up from 35.9
percent (18,592 voting power)
