India's HPL Electric & Power rises on Q3 profit jump

** Shares of HPL Electric and Power  HPLE.NS  up 10% to hit
upper circuit at 345.05 rupees
    ** Electric equipment manufacturer reports 87.6% rise in
consolidated net profit to 119.4 mln rupees ($1.4 mln ) for Dec
qtr
    ** Total revenue from operations up 21.2%
    ** Stock has been trading above its 200-day moving avg since
March-end
    ** Stock up 149.2% in 2023, marking its best annual gain in
four years
