POLITICS
Italy will protect the autonomy of the MTS bond trading platform should a merger between Euronext ENX.PA and Deutsche Boerse DB1Gn.DE take place, Treasury Junior Minister Federico Freni said on Wednesday.
Borsa Italiana, part of pan-European operator Euronext, has long been a sensitive asset in Italy as it controls MTS, where €2.7 trillion of Italian government bonds are traded.

The lender os building the rapidly-growing practice of significant risk transfers deep into its bank lending operation, as it seeks to undercut competitors in its core markets, Bloomberg reported on Thursday.
