INTEREST RATES
On Wednesday, the Polish Monetary Policy Council will announce its decision on interest rates. A narrow majority of economists in a Reuters poll expects the Polish central bank to keep its main interest rate on hold at 4.00% on Wednesday, in a decision some say is the toughest to predict in months.
FOREIGN MINISTER VISITS U.S.
Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski will begin his visit to Washington on Tuesday, where he will participate in a ministerial conference organised by the U.S. State Department on securing critical minerals supply chains.
BANK RESULTS
Analysts forecast that in 2025, the net profit of the nine largest Polish banks listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange could reach 39.7 billion zlotys ($11.12 billion), approximately 14% higher than in the record-breaking year of 2024, Parkiet daily reported.
SANTANDER BANK POLSKA
Santander Bank Polska SPL1.WA topped analysts' estimates for fourth-quarter earnings on Wednesday, less than a month after its Spanish parent finalised the sale of a controlling stake to Austria's Erste Group ERST.VI.
