Wall Street's main indexes slid on Tuesday as investors turned risk-averse
following reports of geopolitical tensions escalating in the Middle East, while
also assessing data that pointed to a stable labor market.  .N 
    
    At 11:38 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.4% at
42,162.53. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 1.00% at 5,704.62 and the Nasdaq
Composite  .IXIC  was down 2.10% at 17,807.896.
