S.Korea's railway-related firms gain on inter-Korea railroad plans

** Shares of South Korean companies with exposure to the
North gain, after South Korean President Moon Jae-in says he
aims to begin construction of an inter-Korean railway this year

** President Moon also proposes an East Asian railroad
community by including the United States, China, Japan, Russia
and Mongolia, in a speech on Wednesday marking the 73rd
anniversary of the peninsula's liberation from Japanese rule

** Shares of Daea TI Co Ltd 045390.KQ , manufacturer of
railway signal control systems, and Daeho AL Co Ltd 069460.KS ,
involved in processing business for railroad cars, climb 9.4 pct
and 6.4 pct, respectively
** Railway vehicle manufacturer Hyundai Rotem Co 064350.KS
surge as much as 12.1 pct, while Namkwang Engineering &
Construction Co Ltd 001260.KS also rise as much as 9.8 pct
** South Korea's main index .KS11 down 0.8 pct as of 0359
