- UK's Conservative Party treasurer Graham Edwards has
emerged as the leading candidate to rescue the stricken Thames
Water in return for a major shareholding.
- Metals Exploration MTL.L , a London-listed goldminer
backed by the financier Nick Candy, has made a bid for rival
Condor Gold CNDR.L in a deal that could value the company at
about 67.5 million pounds ($85.39 million).

- British Finance Minister Rachel Reeves is to appoint a
health service and regulatory veteran, Tom Hayhoe, a former
