Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni told daily Corriere della Sera daily in an interview published on Tuesday that "times are not mature yet" for a summit and a deal on tariffs between the European Union and the United States.
ECONOMY
ISTAT releases April consumer and business confidence data (0800 GMT); January industry sales data (0900 GMT); Q1 wage inflation data (1000 GMT).
DEBT
Treasury sells 3.0-3.5 billion euros of 2.95% BTP bonds due July 1, 2030; 3.5-4.0 billion euros of new 3.60% BTP bonds due Oct. 1, 2035; 1.5-2.0 billion euros of CCTeu bonds due April 15, 2033. Subscriptions close at 0900 GMT.

Mediobanca struck back on Monday in the takeover war gripping Italian finance with a 6.3 billion euro ($7.15 billion) offer for wealth manager Banca Generali to be financed by handing over its stake in insurer Generali.
Banca Generali in a statement said Mediobanca's takeover bid was neither solicited nor priorly agreed upon.
Generali said its board acknowledged Mediobanca's announcement but did not discuss it at a meeting on Monday.
Mediobanca will hold its ordinary general meeting on June 16.
MONTE DEI PASCHI BMPS.MI, MEDIOBANCA
The Tuscan bank does not see the buyout offer announced on Monday by Mediobanca as an obstacle for its own bid to acquire the Milanese bank, two people close to the state-backed lender said.
GENERALI
The insurer said on Monday its board re-appointed Philippe Donnet as CEO and Andrea Sironi as Chairman for another three-year mandate.
UNICREDIT CRDI.MI
The bank said on Monday it meets the minimum requirements for own funds and eligible liabilities (MREL) set by resolution authorities. It also postponed to May 11, from May 6, the board that is due to approve first quarter results.

Investment funds Stonepeak, Apollo Global and Ares Management are expected to submit binding offers for a 15% stake in the energy group's renewables and retail arm Plenitude by May 6, Il Sole 24 Ore reported on Tuesday.
PIRELLI PIRC.MI
The Italian tyremaker said on Monday its board established that the group's largest investor, China's state-owned Sinochem 600500.SS, no longer controls the company, and added that shareholders will continue to discuss governance arrangements.
Sinochem said it was deeply disappointed and firmly opposed the resolution by the board.
