APPOINTMENT OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

 

Antofagasta plc (the "Company") announces that the Board of Directors (the
"Board") of the Company has appointed Ignacio Bustamante as an Independent
Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 July 2025.

Mr Bustamante brings over 30 years of mining senior leadership experience in
the Americas, with a strong focus on corporate strategy, operational
excellence, sustainability and business development. He currently serves as
Head of Base Metals at Appian Capital Advisory LLP.

Previously, Mr Bustamante was CEO and Executive Director of Hochschild Mining
plc, a London-listed silver and gold mining company with operations across the
Americas. Prior to that, he held several senior executive positions in in the
Hochschild Mining plc group in areas including operations, finance, and
business development.

He has also served as a Non-Executive Director at Aclara Resources, Scotiabank
Peru, and Profuturo AFP in Peru.

Mr Bustamante holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Business and
Accounting from Universidad del Pacífico in Peru, and an MBA from Stanford
University.

Mr Jean-Paul Luksic, Chairman of the Company, said today: "Following a
comprehensive, externally facilitated search process, we are delighted that
Ignacio has accepted our invitation to join the Board. His broad mining
experience in the Americas will be of great benefit to the Company in the
years ahead."

For the purposes of the UK Corporate Governance Code, Mr Bustamante is
considered by the Board to be independent.

Save as disclosed above, there are no further disclosures required under
Listing Rule 6.4.8 R in respect of Mr Bustamante.
