Australia's Anax Metals rises on spodumene discovery at Whim Creek project

** Shares of exploration co Anax Metals  ANX.AX  rise as
much as 20.6% to A$0.076 - their highest since April 4
    ** Co discovers spodumene in multiple pegmatites at the Whim
Maar prospect at its 80%-owned Whim Creek Project in Western
Australia
    ** Adds it also found new lithium and gold geochemical
targets from exploration of its wholly owned Loudens Patch
tenement
    ** More than 3.3 mln shares change hands, 18.2 times the
30-day avg of 183,130 shares
    ** As of last close, ANX up 18.9% this year
